Mechanical Engineering Student | SDSU ’27 | Driven to Create and Improve
I'm a Mechanical Engineering student at San Diego State University, currently pursuing hands-on experience in design, prototyping, and sustainable product development. With a passion for real-world problem solving, I’ve worked on projects like Drive Safe—focused on e-waste reduction—and contributed to high-impact residential infrastructure through my internship at Discovery Land Company. I’m always looking to grow in roles that combine creativity, engineering, and impact.
Hi, I’m Ashton Pugh—a Mechanical Engineering student at San Diego State University (Class of 2027) with a strong interest in product development, systems engineering, and project management. I enjoy solving complex problems by combining creative design with practical engineering.
Recently, I interned at Discovery Land Company in Austin, TX, where I gained real-world experience in material mark-offs, creating shop drawings, and coordinating large-scale residential infrastructure projects. I also led a capstone project called Drive Safe, developing a secure hard drive disposal system to help reduce electronic waste and protect data on the Big Island of Hawaii.
I thrive in fast-paced environments, particularly where I can apply my knowledge of CAD modeling (SolidWorks), electrical systems, and hands-on fabrication skills. Outside of engineering, I’ve refurbished and donated over 100 computers for communities in need—technology with impact is something I care about deeply.
I’m currently looking for internship and entry-level opportunities in mechanical design, sustainability, or product development—roles where I can keep learning and contribute to something meaningful.
